The routes
With its proximity to Sète, Agde and Cap d'Agde, Marseillan will also delight cycling enthusiasts with nearly 25 kilometres of cycle paths, the EuroVélo8 and the Canal des 2 Mers, not to mention the fact that it is the leading cycling town with less than 10,000 inhabitants. On site, you will find several bike rental companies and you can also go to the Marseillan reception office, which has the "Accueil Vélo" label, for advice and assistance. So, get on your bike and come, for a few hours, to ride one of these routes (map available here) :
-
Marseillan-Plage to Cap d'Agde (Level: Easy)
Over 6 kilometres, come and enjoy the different panoramas of the Bagnas ponds and the volcano of Mont Saint Loup before relaxing on one of the terraces of Cap d'Agde or Marseillan beach.
-
Marseillan-Plage to Marseillan-Ville (Level: Medium)
From the seafront, cycle 5 kilometres to discover the Canal du Midi, the Onglous lighthouse and the Thau lagoon before finishing at the port in the town centre.
-
Marseillan-Plage to Sète (Level: Easy)
Flat, that's what awaits you on this 15-kilometre circuit which links the Marseillan coastline to the maritime city of Sète, but above all there are numerous viewpoints on the lido, the Castellas tower, the Corniche, the Môle and the inevitable Mont Saint Clair.
You can also leave from the city centre, reach Marseillan-Plage and choose your next destination: Sète or Cap d'Agde.
-
The archipel of Thau
Don't hesitate to venture around the archipel of Thau to visit Sète, Balaruc-les-Bains, Balaruc-le-Vieux, Frontignan... Or simply enjoy the nature around you.
